ABOUT KENSUKE WAKESHIMA

Japan 1937

The artist was born in Japan in 1937, and studied traditional Japanese art at the Asano Art Institute there. After moving to the United States in 1956, he attended The Chouinard Art Institute in Los Angeles and the Art Students League in New York. Mr. Wakeshima is a member of the Society of American Graphic Artists and the Boston Printmaking Association. He has been shown in many selected exhibitions, both here and Japan, and a part of the permanent collections in multiple museums, including the Seattle Art Museum, Yale University, and the Boston Museum of Fine Arts.
