Similar to other works by Delacroix this piece shows a landscape filled with people interacting with each other. There appears to be a marathon going on in the foreground while in the middle and background there are cars and patrons making their way to their next destination. Delacroix uses this street vanishing to the back to give us a sense of depth and space within this 2D image.
