This artist is often known only by his “last” name, “Le Riche” or “Leriche” because his identity is uncertain. He was recorded at Versailles in the 18th century, and known works are attributed to him. He may well have been Francois Sebastien Le Riche. The Bénézit artist encyclopedia suggests that he may have instead been I. S. J. Le Riche, or even Pierre Le Riche.
